Aloo Ka Bharta  (spiced potatoes)




            4 -5   large                    boiled potatoes
                2                              onion, finely chopped
                2                              green chilies, chopped
                     a few                   coriander leaves, chopped
                1   teaspoon             mustard oil
             1/2   teaspoon             salt
             1/2   teaspoon             red chili powder
             1/2   teaspoon             jeera (roasted and powdered cumin seed)



Peel the potatoes and mash them coarsely.  Add all the other ingredients and mix well.

Serve aloo bharta with baati (the hard, unleavened bread cooked in desert areas of north India).
